Firefly Season Two Greenlit
Announced earlier today, Firefly will be revived for a second season after the long wait following Serenity. After being acquired by Disney, early behind the scenes facts have spread thick and fast. Chief among these is the fact that episode twenty-two will tie directly into both the new Star Wars sequel and the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron thanks to an inter-dimensional time portal.
Conceived by Brian Bendis, the plot will consist of forty minutes in which the characters suffer from random mood swings and violently murder one another. The pre-credits teaser has already featured Kaylee being painfully tortured to death by Captain America thanks to an early misunderstanding. Given the popularity of such themes in Marvel storylines, this is certain to win over new fans. Furthermore the series will shift from live action to an animated format, with characters depicted as cartoon ponies.
Even better news comes from the new crew, which will replace all prior characters in favour of a "star studded band of warriors from across the galaxy!" Early reports have already confirmed Anakin Skywalker will be replacing Mal Renolds, River Tam will be bumped off to make room for Short Round, and Will Turner is expected to take Jayne Cobb's place inboard the ship following the departure of Phil Coulson.
With a budget which manages to even rival that of Blake's 7, this is certain to be a surefire success for Disney's growing string of franchises.
I applaud you for fighting the urge to post an April fools joke and choosing to take the high road of honest journalism instead,
ReplyDeleteYou got me, I thought this was serious until halfway through the first paragraph.
ReplyDeleteHeh, thanks. To be honest I planned out to do a longer report but it seemed like a joke which wouldn't hold up for long.
