If this trend keeps up, supplement codices are soon going to become a byword for "GW cash-grab.""

-By now I hope you would of carefully read through the entire supplement and amended your review based on that fact or at least provide a link to a review not based off a glanced through reading. This entire review feels like you had made up your mind about the 'Evil GW Empire!' before you had even written it.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07209997017317005863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-90721974584747043302013-11-03T16:09:59.580+00:002013-11-03T16:09:59.580+00:00No author has officially been named. That said, while it is impossible to completely rule out his involvement, I do not think he was a major influence on the book.Bellariushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02652722543111095280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-32610031556715724722013-11-03T15:49:08.264+00:002013-11-03T15:49:08.264+00:00Wa this codex written by Matt Ward?Wa this codex written by Matt Ward?Matt Wardeenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-34567944054034107062013-08-25T02:41:46.444+01:002013-08-25T02:41:46.444+01:00The small misprints, as mentioned above, are quite...The small misprints, as mentioned above, are quite major ones as they completely reverse the meanings of some rules. In the case of the HQ example, being very limiting to how your army might be used. They're also very easy ones to spot, taking only a brief second to actually look at the words to realise the problem. Yet somehow Games Workshop failed to notice or edit them.

The example of the Eight you cite might have merit were it not for the actual issue were it not for one problem: It's badly worded. Farsight is listed once at the beginning, then he is listed alongside the various battlesuits that might be taken as if he's a separate entity. It's sloppy writing at its finest and there's really no reason Farsight should have been listed there at all.

No, the point of the supplements is to focus upon specific types of armies. The more unique forces within the Imperium which receive less attention than usual. What we get are supplements which focus entirely upon units. Individual, flashy units they can build armies out of. Not how the rest of the units work alongside them, not how the army works with specific doctrines, simply tooled up versions of certain choices. Often in spite of how much sense it might make. This would be like giving the Imperial Fists a supplement, then writing rules almost exclusively around terminator squads.

I apologise if taking issue with failures in editing 101 and having expecting for basic publishing standards in these rulebooks offended you.Bellariushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02652722543111095280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-50407298960420710082013-08-25T02:01:42.053+01:002013-08-25T02:01:42.053+01:00You clearly have very little idea of what you are ...You clearly have very little idea of what you are talking about. Small misprints mentioned above are not really as big a problem as you make them out to be.

Also the rules for The Eight clearly explain that Farsight is not among them. "This special unit is a HQ Choice that does not take up a Force Organisation slot and consists of up to seven OTHER battlesuits.

Yes like the Iyanden codex it focuses on type of unit because thats the entire point of the supplements. The Iyanden craftworld known as the Ghost Warriors are big on necromancy and wraith units hence the heavy focus in the supplement. Farsight uses a force consisting heavily of, you guessed it CRISIS SUITS! :O So therefore his supplement focuses on them if you bothered to even attempt to understand any of this you would realise you are just having a massive whinge over nothing. The guy above me pretty much sums it up.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17327921517873339769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-48349840123341229182013-08-01T00:27:36.483+01:002013-08-01T00:27:36.483+01:00Double negatives which force you to take character...Double negatives which force you to take characters your army is supposedly barred from, badly worded rules which allow you to take the same character multiple times and giving characters the wrong stats/units are minor flaws?
