Why is it that the plane can somehow hit the tank (very rarely) but not vice versa? Why can't the tank just ignore it and function normally?

Vehicles being tarpitted is a big problem in general though, and I really think they should be able to fire while in combat without much issue, and/or be able to tank shock once again. As it is now a single model can hold up a tank just fine somehow so long as it can't back away, which is just weird when a Land Raider needs to back up in fear of the scary grot(s) that're coming from the front.

I've also still got mixed feelings about the Weapon Skill. On the one hand I like that it's a little more streamlined, but on the other something just feels missing when everyone can hit each other with ease and apparently nobody cares about protecting themselves from their opponents anymore. Weapon Skill also served as a fun way to do lore/combat comparisons and now that's kinda gone. On the whole though I will say I'm enjoying this edition way more than 7th.grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-43950545848630523772017-08-14T18:01:45.021+01:002017-08-14T18:01:45.021+01:00I'm not sure where you get the -1 to hit for A...I'm not sure where you get the -1 to hit for Assault Weapons from, that's only when models Advance, i.e. add d6 to their movement. Considering models can't normally Advance and shoot at all, that's a powerful bonus, not a detriment. Since all models can charge after firing now anyway, it makes Assault Weapons better as mobile firepower. I think that's a good change.

Overall I'd say it's a big improvement and a very successful attempt at streamlining. There are a few issues, though, like the confusing way re-rolls and modifiers interact, and how things like plasma overheating are affected by to hit modifiers (stealth fields make overheating more likely, for some reason), but that's nothing that can't be fixed at some point.Theodorichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05270228065802649236noreply@blogger.com
