I'm going to give it every chance to succeed it deserves, and will praise it if it works well, but history is most definitely against it.Bellariushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02652722543111095280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-89278586503254772422017-02-18T21:42:13.703+00:002017-02-18T21:42:13.703+00:00So, you excited for the next Wendig novel?😋So, you excited for the next Wendig novel?😋zillafire101https://www.blogger.com/profile/01247901232331011700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-85815141618761738132016-12-27T16:28:25.639+00:002016-12-27T16:28:25.639+00:00Apologies for the late response, but I had to thin...Apologies for the late response, but I had to think about this one for quite a while. In all honesty, most post-apocalyptic environments i'm usually drawn to are more akin to wastelands or even steampunk themed realms. However, Snow Crash I think would be my answer thanks to having a few post-apocalyptic qualities to it, thanks to the collapse in government, mass poverty and America almost devolving into a corporate run warlord state. Dima Zales' Oasis is another good one from what I recall, but it's been quite a few years since I read that book. It's far more apocalyptic than Snow Crash though.

This is, of course, without getting into things like comics or manga where i'm usually more familiar with this sort of stuff though.Bellariushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02652722543111095280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-13800578307294144062016-12-16T20:46:01.694+00:002016-12-16T20:46:01.694+00:00Speaking about science fiction, what are the best ...Speaking about science fiction, what are the best books set in post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk scenarios you have ever read?Gabrielnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-36731374368483483412016-08-04T08:36:42.215+01:002016-08-04T08:36:42.215+01:00I'm still waiting for the one good new EU nove...I'm still waiting for the one good new EU novel to come out, however I'm wondering if it's possible to edit together a good one from the material we currently have, removing the long-winded passages, adding in tension from events taking place at the same time but elsewhere in the galaxy, or even just making the good parts into a book that's just a compilation of short stories looking at what the characters did after the destruction of the second Death Star.grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-9978005518256239422016-07-20T08:00:11.314+01:002016-07-20T08:00:11.314+01:00Admittedly, never did read Crosscurrents but have ...Admittedly, never did read Crosscurrents but have heard very mixed things about that one over past years. That said, a lot of the criticisms there do sound a lot like the stuff from Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void, which was near unreadable a lot of the time. Not nearly so bad as this one but difficult to be sure.

Anyway, yeah, Twilight Company is coming out in softback soon so I still reccomend it. It's not outstanding by any means, but it's the closest thing there is to a Star Wars Gaunt's Ghosts style book.Bellariushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02652722543111095280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-26828418763217274752016-07-20T06:14:33.023+01:002016-07-20T06:14:33.023+01:00Yikes, and I thought Crosscurrents was bad. It was a mediocre novel, regarding a lost Old Republic Jedi or Sith or someone, with an awkward then-and-now POV, and dialogue that sounded the same no matter who it came from.)

I might try Twilight Company because I enjoy a good story about humble soldiers in a big galaxy. Otherwise, I fear for the quality of future Star Wars books.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15587499275311246186noreply@blogger.com
