There's so many branches of the Imperium that aren't getting their due in the various books that they didn't really belong in that I can't think of an alternative, and it's also really nice to add certain groups to certain armies without having to worry about flipping between other books that are about other armies entirely and just happen to include these units too.

That being said you hit the nail on the head about the lore. It's minimal at best and oddly inconsistent, not to mention the unit selection is surprisingly limited in some areas and then surprisingly expanded for others (why the Grey Knights only get Terminators and Interceptors for ground troops is beyond me, same with adding in only power armoured footslogging Deathwatch and no other Infantry).

At the very least I'd hoped that the lore would be on paralleled with the amount of units an army gets, aka more units equals more lore, but apparently whoever made the book didn't think the same thing.
This book might still be good if this was still fifth edition and we could get a full page explaining each unit alongside their entries, however given the current (and in my opinion, lazy) books with their minimal lore and the page dominated by a picture of the miniature, we're left with next to nothing.grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.com
