I didn't think it was as bad as the others as there are neat bits, however nothing here made sense. To start off, the alien janitor was so freaked out that the Cybermen were taking away humans... that he decided to kill off all humans before they could do it? Seriously this guy's character makes no sense whatsoever, especially when he's just knocked unconscious and left there for the rest of the episode. Why couldn't Bill have just been hurt by some kind of malfunction or better yet, an actual confrontation with the proto-Cybermen?

That's not to say the rest of the crew are that much better. We know that there were about 20 that went to the other side to work on the engines... so what did they do when they were done? Stay there and screw like rabbits? From what the janitor says they were all supposed to come back up and we know they can, so why didn't they?
Also what's everyone afraid of below decks if they can easily go above deck without any issue? They keep going on about being strong for the environment they're in, but it's at complete odds with itself since we never see anything to convince them that going up's a bad idea.

This is a two-parter though, so maybe the next one will fix these issues, or maybe we'll be left with one of the worst seasons of new Who. Given that it's buy the same person as Hell Bent though, I'm not holding my breath.grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.com
