A Khornate siege force, it makes sense to me at least, Khorne hates the cowards who hide behind walls and buildings (or who flee and hide in general). Fortresses are currently one of the things Khorne units are not very good at dealing with and with how messy (as in blood everywhere) the siege weapons can get I don't see how it wouldn't work well for a force that was more interested in hunting down the weak than cutting down the strong.

What's interesting is that the 30K rules kind of support this too, the World Eaters being able to make a pretty decent long-ranged shooting army, and with the ability to get Rage for everyone they can easily cut their enemies down so long as they can force their enemies to come to them (after taking out their enemies long ranged support and transports for example).grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-3156668715187699722015-04-07T17:22:37.145+01:002015-04-07T17:22:37.145+01:00On the last paragraph, I believe there's a wor...On the last paragraph, I believe there's a word missing, it should be 'and for the tide of blood to flow'. I like the idea of that warband since it's an interesting take on Khorne's methodology, instead of running head on screaming 'BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD', you let your opponent come at you and slaughter them from a position of strength.

I do agree that the lack of complexity is harmful. Khorne's always been arguably the most straightforward of the Chaos gods sadly, and this really doesn't help. One of the interesting things about Chaos is the number of different ways you can take each god based on their portfolio and use that to tailor your army in a particular way based on their beliefs. You can have a Khorne warband based around small, elite units such as Terminators and thematically represent it as a group who venerate Khorne by exercising their martial prowess in noble combat, ie the old view of Khorne's followers sparing civilians because they were unworthy skulls to offer to Khorne. You could have a horde of blood-crazed cultists aiming to suicide themselves and take as many foes down with them as possible to win Khorne's favour. You can have the raid, pillage and burn style of Khorne raiders, but also more strategic warriors, ones who even eschew ranged combat as unworthy of Khorne compared to those who find it appropriate to sacrifice their enemies to Khorne in a hail of artillery and gunfire. There are a lot of styles you could examine to really differentiate out different Khornate warbands.Phantom Revengerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10620031339738975682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831276194138109948.post-79444964630908207812015-04-07T04:32:01.665+01:002015-04-07T04:32:01.665+01:00Well it's nice that the books are finally depi...Well it's nice that the books are finally depicting a strength in Khorne's forces, for a while now they've been kind of content to just let him be the weakest on the tabletop. For the rules I really hope they added some way to let you summon bloodletters onto the battlefield, as that's really hurting them right now. As a side thing though, I think Khârn could definitely have been added as he's supposed to be randomly going around killing people, so it would make sense that he eventually comes across the Daemonkin, or he could have been used to represent somebody else, much like Fantasy can have characters fight even though they lived and died hundreds of years apart (in which case it's just somebody very similar to who the model is supposed to be). I am very surprised that Skarbrand isn't in the book though, this might have also been a good time to bring in some lesser used ones like An'ggrath the Unbound as a Lord of War choice since those are in the main rulebook now.

It's a shame that they forgot Khorne represents more than one side though, that was actually one of the things I was happy they remembered about in The End Times, specifically that the different Gods have different aspects, which is why Nurgle's Daemons were able to control/posses undead, as well as bring the dead back to life and mutating wizards who specialized in Life magic. It was also how Khorne's greatest Daemon was distracted from hunting down and killing a character because somebody more powerful showed up and the Daemon only cared about honourable duels against the strongest of fighters.

I've always wondered what Commorragh's weaknesses really are, it just seems to be the city of the Deux ex Machina's (just look at what happened when the Salamanders invaded), at least in the Eye of Terror codex it was made clear that the city, since it was still technically a part of the warp was VERY vulnerable to a daemonic invasion (to the point that Eldrad thought a single breach and Daemonic invasion would utterly destroy it).

Finally (and I hate to bring it up), I'm not sure what this sentence means: "After killing everyone there, they promptly take up defensive positions and ready themselves for their foes' arrival, and for tied of blood to flow."grdaathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722216755745063033noreply@blogger.com
